A 27% win percentage with Bristol City in The Championship doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
Like I keep saying he's been a manager for 10 years and 9 of those years have been successful. He took over Bristol City when they were adrift at the bottom and saved them - the next year they were bottom again and he was sacked. Overall he appears to have been a good manager - virtually every manager mentioned - Monk, Pearson, Karanka - has been sacked at sometime. If it is him we can either look at the positives are dwell on the negative - you can guess who will look at the negatives. BTW who did Dave Angel used to be on here? He's another one of those aggressively negative posters you get on here, never happier than being outraged.

The fans need to grow up and give somebody a chance.

He has already had a chance in the league we are in. He bombed and understandably imho, in our current predicament many, myself included, don't want him.
We need to get this next appointment right and the people involved in the decision making process are a worry.

Totally this. Agree 100%

As a character I'd bet that McInnes would go down well with SAFC fans. He's steely, determined and driven by all accounts.
It's hardly one to set the pulse racing, but I don't know much about his style and methods to really say for sure. It doesn't or won't give the fans that lift initially we need, but many who know more about him seem to rate him.

I don't mind if he becomes our manager as long as he doesn't start bringing loads of Scottish players with him.

I'm not saying you have to want him, I'm saying if he comes you have to give him a fair chance and not be on his back because of who he is.

I get that, its not personal with the bloke, didnt want Moyes but he got more backing for longer than he should have.
I'm hoping that we don't appoint him full stop.

It looks to me like Moyes had convinced Bain and Short that his blueprint to get us back to the premier league is sound and viable. He'd already mentioned that plans were well underway for pre-season and I'd imagine that includes transfer targets. Moyes has regularly been seen watching games in Scotland throughout his time here.

Moyes realised he'd lost the dressing room which mightn't have mattered too much as that is going to be radically different come next season, but the fact the fans had turned I think made him walk away.

It looks to me like the club are happy to use Moyes plans and are looking for a suitable candidate to implement them - who better than a fellow Scot with knowledge of the players we are looking to bring in.

Like others have said it smacks of narrow mindedness - it's a huge world out there, is a lack of imagination going to cost us ?

This would mean Karanka should be the obvious appointment since he had success in the league bringing boro up. Don't see many shouting his name?
McInnes had a poor stint but still an experience in the league he likely learned from... he headed back north and got his bearings straight. Not sure he can be completely written off based on his time at Bristol. Anyone w/ an untarnished track record likely won't be coming.... he is young w/ some experience and likely very hungry to prove he can succeed in this league. His past failure may give added motivation/energy that is desperately needed after moyes and his "I have nothing to prove" demeanor.
