I don't honestly have a high horse . I do reject the generalisation that anything outside of England is shite and that " we" as a so called big club can dismiss the achievements of others.

And incidentally my mate is a scout in League of Ireland / Scotland who has an informed opinion that is worth listening to.

The reality is that a team from Scotland were the first from these islands to win the European Cup ( Champions league) 50 years ago tomorrow. If Sunderland had done that it would not be dismissed as a pub league team but rather a source of perennial celebration.
 
I'm not saying mcInnes is shit and not ruling him out because of Aberdeen. He ticks a few boxes. I would like a manager though who has a ready list of championship level players so we can hit the ground running in the window so IF they'd come i'd prefer one of the 4 - Monk/ Stam/ Jokanovic/Wagner.

Mate of mine who is a huge Sunderland fan was telling me that in the last 10 years, Sunderland's net transfer outlay totalled £150million - and still they are shite and a club always struggling to avoid relegation.

It irks the mackems somewhat that their biggest rival (at "skunk park" as they call it) just up the road have spent a net outlay of £50 million.

Sunderland need root and branch surgery from top to bottom.

Is McIness really wanting to go to a joke club where it will take years to just weed out the dross signings of previous managers with no guarantee of success?

McInnes may well move on, but I doubt very much he'd want to go to a shit club like Sunderland.
