Look North just reported that Durham are willing to allow him to explore the offer.

I think I would have preferred a "Hands Off" response to be honest.

why would he go he is getting a game here when fit

Fuck off Ch... Hang on, I agree. He's playing regularly for his home county who are walking the lvcc, why would he move?

I wonder if there is some offer of being team manager/coach on top of playing

Thats wht im thinking, possibly chucking in the captaincy too. From a Durham point of view can only think that they want to avoid paying his contract, since his England days look numbered.

was chatting to someone the other day on the county circuit and they recon Colly would be on about 300,000 - 350,000k with England whereas in county cricket he would drop to about 100-120k

There's no way Durham could afford his wages for next year once his central contract has finished. Unless they compromise elsewhere. They might have to get rid of Diva, Harmy or Benks.

Diva would be the 1 to go....

I recon Colly would take a huge wage cut anyhows

would the £500,000 for winning the cc not help

You would have thought that the money from other seasons wins would help but the lack of overseas player(not that we need one) or the lack of a big name signing for the 20/20 leads me to think that money is tight. To be fair they are improving the ground and the money they have to pay the ECB for the England games doesnt help.

I personally hope that Colly is offered the captaincy and finishes his fine career where he belongs.

Durham's County contract with T20 deals in India and Oz will actually mean a pay rise.

Don't panic, there's nothing in this.

If T20 is where we are getting our money from may I suggest we start taking it seriously and put together a good T20 side.

Even though I would rather have a cracking championship team.

If Warks and Glos can do trebles Durham should show the ambition to try in more than one competition I reckon. Complete waste having the likes of Onions watching games.

On paper we have a cracking team.

I was on about Colly's contracts in the next few years, Durham, IPL and Ozzy T20. But it's not about money with Collingwood, Derby would have to offer silly money for Colly to move. Money they don't have.
