Derby day - the tank (year 2000 maybe)

Anybody remember the tank that someone had when we played the mags years back (2000?) sure it was the day there was nearly a riot on the bridge , when Phillips scored and people piled on the pitch to celebrate and he said all he could smell was stale beer
What was the story with that tank , did somebody hire it, anybody off here ?

There was a tank being driven around St Peter’s/Dame Dot after the Defoe derby as well, with lads hanging out of it cheering.

I remember the riot on the bridge - pre mobiles, word got round that mags were walking from train station, then cue mass exidous from wheatsheaf, terminus, deafy, victory etc - never seen so many lads charging

Not far off. It was a Sabre. I know the lad who owned it and was driving that day. I’ve a couple of videos of us tootling around Sunderland in it. He’d a FV432 as well he occasionally took out for a spin around the town. No longer has either.
