Derby County deal expected to collapse

Well that came from nowhere. He'd been talked about as maybe buy the ground or chip in to help with wages but to buy the whole thing
Hopefully this finally gets over the line for you.

Can’t believe the administrators let Kirchner anywhere near preferred bidder status

How wealthy is very wealthy. Wonder if he'll buy the club as a first move to keep it going then look to attract investment to kick on.

Whether he does that or does have the means to go it alone I hope he's straight with the fans. Last think any club needs is more bullshit from owners on an ego trip.

Local property developer worth £350 million? not wealthy enough to soak up years of football losses i wouldnt imagine. Good point about keeping it going, just what we need someone to be a guardian of the club and move it on when the time is right. Not read anything bad about him yet anyway, no sketchy photos of him in Bubbles yet!

I wonder why Ashley is getting nowhere with it, his bid must be absolutely shite!!

Derby probably just need to be run within their means, doesn't need someone to hoy loads down on players. Aye they might not bounce back immediately, might even be down longer than we were, but at least they'll survive.

Local property developer buying the ground first then expected to be given preferred bidder status? (after the first twenty preferred bidders came and went) Can't see this ending badly at all....

It does seem an odd way to go about things like. Alarm bells!!

Hope he has the club's best interests at heart.

Bloody well right.

Should be:
1/ HMRC.
2/ Non football creditors.
3/ Football creditors.

Maybe then the game would put in measures to police itself.

The football creditors rule is to stop the collapse of any club creating a domino effect down the line.
  • Club A buys a player on deferred payment terms from Club B, who buy a replacement from Club C, also on deferred terms
  • Without the football creditors rule, If Club A goes bust this risks Club B and Club C also going bust as they rely on the deferred payments to pay their ongoing bills.

Can only be kirchner was claiming to offer creditors are better deal because in no other instance would you pick some crypto yank over a billionaire with previous club ownership experience or a very rich life long fan who leads a company that’s been going since the 80’s.

Just like in every other field of business.

We should be looking at couple of players from derby for signings, hopefully they get taken over soon
They've only got a couple of players left.

Rooney said: "Over the course of the Summer I have been closely following developments regarding the ownership of Derby County.

"Today I met with the administrators to inform them of my decision that it was time for me to leave the club. In fairness to them, they tried tremendously hard to change my decision but my mind was made up.

"My time at the club has been a rollercoaster of emotions, both highs and lows, but I have to say that I have enjoyed the challenge.

"Personally, I feel the club now needs to be led by someone with fresh energy and not affected by the events that have happened over the last eighteen months. I will remember my time at Derby with great pride and affection and would like to thank all my staff, players and of course the fans for their incredible support. I will never forget you and hope to see you all again in the near future and in happier times.

"Finally, I am aware that the club still have interested parties who wish to take over the running of the club. To them I say this, Derby County is a great club with a great history and great fans. I wish you all the best and much success for the future."
Really doesn't help them it's five weeks until the start of the season and they're as far away from being prepared for it as they could possibly be. Likely he doesn't fancy another season of making do with a cobbled together squad. Which is fair enough, he's done a lot for Derby.
