I'm aware of that. It's not really what's been debated though is it?

Given allowances for ages shouldn't get him a run of games, nor can you really assess his 'ceiling' on games in youths when it's not yet transferred regularly to senior level.

He needs to show people he's got the potential to play PL otherwise he shouldn't get games. He's not done much at all for a helluva long time.

There's having a dip in form and there's doing very little for over half a season.

Too ma y have bought into the "generational talent " rhetoric and haven't been watching.
I agree , he has time on his side obviously so could turn into a very good player but I’m sceptical tho that opinion doesn’t go down too well

An okay championship level left back on a good day, nothing more. Would be ambivalent at most if he left. At this point I think his injuries are more a mental thing or he might be just playing the game and running his contract down to leave for free and without risking any kind of injury.

This is nonesense. On a good day he's right at the top of the championship at least, he was a key part of our start last season.

His issue is when he's on form he gets injured and when he comes back he doesn't always hit the ground running.
He is, but what @Perryqhill posted is true.

I love Rigg, I think he could end up being really top class but he hasn't really consistently put performances together. There was a spell at the start of maybe last season I think (where he scored the backheel goal) and he was looking special, but he had a few injuries, form dipped & never consistently got going again.

Cirkin was a main stay left back when he wasn't injured.

Last season was Riggs first full season of professional football. Every kids form drops in their first full season. Neil, Doyle and Hume being examples from our recent past. Ekwah too.

Its expected and in the championship we play then through the form drop.

Said the same for ages he’s done fuck all since that back heel
As others have already said, the Masuaku signing seemed to indicate that the club were expecting Cirkin to be away by now.
Or just getting someone in temporarily to give him some time out

Yep.I hope he gets minutes and turns into a superstar, starting today. But hes probably been below par for an extended period of time now and unless he shows more when given game time, as Le Fee has recently, he may struggle to get it.

I think the problem with Rigg is that he has been thrown into the deep end, into the first team at such a young age.

He's still only 18 and development isn't always linear. He's played a lot of minutes for a kid his age and he has done very well despite not looking like the best player in the league or anything.

Maybe some people have built the expectations too high of him. I don't think he will ever be one of the best players in the world, but I think he will manage a career mostly in the PL.
It'll be tough to get past Reinildo- a very astute signing.

Cirkin is nowhere near as good as him.

Starting to get the feeling he’s one of these that is good for his age but for me he isn’t showing big signs of progression I think he maybe better playing deeper he’s not quick or skilful enough or good at dribbling to be an attacking midfielder

Early days given his age. However he struggled for sometime to have an impact in the championship so its a stretch to expect him to make the jump to PL and perform. Different to the Champ where you can drop them in and support a bit more to progress quickly and sell on like Jobe.

He initially done very well and looked extremely talented but didn't really contribute for sometime. His output and forward play overall last season was miles below par after the opening two months. Imo like Jobe he was being played to progress his value more than genuinely being good or consistent at Championship level.

Dennis is/was currentlyn a far better player.

I guess it's down to opinions, but I'd be a lot more comfortable with Rigg starting the next 5 games than I would Cirkin (hypotheically of course).

That ball watching mistake in the play off final is the stuff of nightmares at PL level.

Don't get me wrong- I think Cirkin clearly had a drop off of form after injury last season too and he made a series of defensive mistakes. Generally he's a good young full back and talented himself though.

I wouldn't very comfortable with either starting at the moment. Both have potential - ive seen Dennis do it more often and I don't think Rigg will be the player many are siggesting he will be.
