Deluded mags part 69876

I watched the match again today with my brother who has come to visit and hadn't seen it.

Watching without the blood up confirms my initial impression. That there was only once when I thought "shit they are bound to score here", and that was when the young lad Armstrong shot instead of passing to Sissoko who I'd noticed had ran in behind our lot. They may have scored at other times, but the close range efforts were crowded out and were nowhere near being sitters because of it. The closest they did come to scoring were the shots from Perez and Sissoko where Pants did his job superbly.

Conversely there were four times when I was on my feet and certain we would score before we actually did; Whickam's first header, Fletch's volley, Jordi's horror miss and Johnno's miss after he dribbled past Coco. These all had goal written all over them, although in Fletch's case he did nowt wrong.

We nearly ran out of it, but it was only a matter of time.

Larsons shot as well just after we scored, if he'd past that back instead of shooting that would have been a goal.

The Armstrong chance was their only proper one where you would say 'should have scored'...... We had three of them and a goal!

The rest were good efforts IMHO - which we had plenty of too. We hit the bar aswell.......

just point them to this article

A bit from The Guardian,

Well done , the result well deserved by virtue of scoring more goals than their opponents - the only criterion for judging. As it happens, they also created the better chances, even if Newcastle applied more nondescript pressure, and the winner was crafted and converted with superb composure and precision.

Nice ...

I like this one :

Newcastle have been wanton with the club’s history for years; the changing of the name of the stadium, and the treatment of Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer, giant men in its past. Finally, under Mike Ashley, they have written their own chapter. That it is inglorious failure seems hugely fitting.

Don't get where this "wa bossed tha game" crap is coming from. They had a dominant spell in the first and last 10 minutes, the rest of the match was either even or we were edging it. Could argue we should have won 3-0 again with the chances we had.

Reading through this and thinking of the game, it is shocking we only won 0-1. In summary we had:
Wickham header wide early on
Wickham comfortable save for Alnwick
Wickham shot tipped onto the post and out
Fletcher off the bar
The Gomez one
Johnson 5 mins before the goal
Larrson 1 minute after the goal

That is seven very good chances, to their three or four.

What is not included above is our one very good goal to their none.

Someone posted a stat the other day, it is something like 1,295 days since Newcastle last beat Sunderland. Two stats to shut them up.

Now it's a couple of days on from our magnificent 1-0 four in a row victory i just can't believe the shite the mags are coming out with, up to now, 'we were the better team' 'we created the better chances' 'we had all the possession', it was on the telly ffs, granted Pants made two class saves for us but other than that we were comfortable i thought, i've heard some shite from them over the years but this is shite of the highest order.
. Is it any wonder they are the most hated fans and club in the country ,they never fail to give everyone a great laugh with their deluded ways !shit fans shit club shit team but great owner !

They never have and never will be able to accept a derby defeat with any grace. Some of them have been fair about it,but the vast majority aren't;makes things all the sweeter really, especially the manner in which we won at the death-what a sickener for them. :)

Just explain our record in the last 3 derbies at their hitch pitch shit tip dump.

Played 3, Won 3, Scored 7, Conceded 0 = 9 points.

Gravy stained twats are clutching at straws, and I for one f***ing love it !!!!

I've even had "we give you 3 points to keep you in the premier league"

To which I replied "why, so we can hump you every season and show you up repeatedly live on national tv"

He just walked away
I've had that one before as well. "We helped you survive". My reply....."didn't look like you had much choice from where I was sitting marra, where were you sitting?"... I wasn't there said he

I think scoring the only goal in the last minute of normal time is a more crushing blow to the 10 6 screaming Geordies than winning comfortably 0-3.

They had to invent such bitter post match analysis after Hereford reminded them they werent one of Europes top dogs so soon after their mighty Fairs Cup victory. Its continued ever since.

......and look what happened to them.....;)
