Especially from Lil Rob.Credit to Bop, he took a lot of shite in the first few pages of this thread, but looks like he or indeed his mate nailed it.

unlike jozy we know he can score in this league.Don't even think it's worth taking that into consideration, the defending and goalkeeping on there is beyond a joke.
I know the PL isn't exactly known for its water tight defences but my god, the standard of MLS looks atrocious.

that video shows he looks sharp still, id bet everything i have that defoe will score more here in the remaining of the season than altidore has scored in 60 plus games in this league.Edited![]()
Favourite post is thisThere's some proper bell ends on that Toronto forum like. Slating Sunderland, the club and the city. I bet none of them have even been in this country never mind the city.
As a Newcastle supporter, I wholeheartedly hope that the various injuries that kept him out of the TFC squad for a better part of the season return and Scumbderland need to eat the contract while they languish in the lower leagues.
I'm sure that Short and the people he employs to run the club are well aware of how the FFP works. In fact I think he was one of the main supporters of it, so its highly unlikely he would put us in a position where we would breach the rules.
The club can't win with some people, it gets criticism when it appears to be doing things on the cheap with loans and free transfers, now people are questioning the amount they are guessing we are paying a player.
Don't know why they can't be happy we've signed a very good goalscorer.
Exactly, they won't - which means the likelihood of us splurging on someone young and top class in the future is diminished.
For the record, I haven't criticised the club for 'doing things on the cheap'. I was quite happy with how things were ticking over - didn't think we'd go down this season anyway and, whilst it's been painful at times, felt it was a necessary struggle in order to build in the future.
This, on the contrary, feels like a panic move. A loan or 1.5 year deal I could more easily understand; 3.5 years seems baffling when you consider he'll be nearing 36 by the end of the contract.
Also, he's being treated as some sort of messiah. I actually sense he could be good for us in the short-term - if we change our system accordingly - but he wasn't exactly prolific in his later days at Spurs and he's coming off the back of a year in a sub-standard league. He's also not getting any younger. I don't want to be a doom merchant but the way some are going on you'd think we'd bought a bloke at the peak of his career.
Hope you are right and TRUE!that video shows he looks sharp still, id bet everything i have that defoe will score more here in the remaining of the season than altidore has scored in 60 plus games in this league.
