Pace....Pace....Pace...He is at 32 faster than all the players in the team.

We really have no direction as a club, do we? Seems like an absolute panic buy.

Whilst i don't doubt that Defoe can still cut it at this level, whether he can cut it in our current system is an entirely different matter.
Don't understand people saying this. We struggle to score goals so are signing a proven premier league goalscorer in replacement of the worst player I've ever seen play for us. Don't know what some fans expect.

Who's yours then ??? She Ra, still couldn't lift your piss pot club to win fuck all could he, piss off back to your greggs pasty man, you gravy stained top wearing kernt !!!!!

In terms of name? Probably Owen, Kluivert, Shearer, Beardsley, Waddle or Gazza (if you can count the last 3)

Buying better players than what we've got is a pretty good direction to go in.

Can't believe loads people moaning about how much wages he's on. Christ man ha'way, it's not our money, Short is sensible enough and if he scores enough goals to kick start our season he would be well worth the money. If he doesn't we can moan then......
So all you doubters please stuck the fcuk up

My point is that Defoe is not part of any masterplan. He's just a player who has been peddled to every club by his agent, and we're the only one willing to give him a 3.5 year deal.

That doesn't make him a bad player, but it does raise major questions about our recruitment policy or lack thereof.
I don't know whether that's right or wrong but Poyet will know him well from coaching him at Spurs.

We do not have an endless pot of money - that's why his wages matter.
