To be honest mate, being a London lad and all that he might only be here for a season and a half if he does well for us and someone else tempts him away so we might end up not even paying half that amount on his wages in the grand scheme of things. The important thing is the present and we need him to get us out of the mess we're in. There'll be time to worry about the other stuff at the end of the season.

I must admit, after typing it I did consider exactly that.

Exactly mate, he may prove to be very good value for money in the long run. If he does well for us, we're not going to lose out either way. If he doesn't however, that's another story but taking our current plight into consideration, its a gamble worth taking imo.

Chuffed we have signed him but been looking at his soccerbase stats & he's only scored 3 times in his last 30 Premier League games. Scored lots in Europe & Cups though so hopefully still has the magic in his boots.

How many were starts though?

Can't be arsed to read 102 pages so I'll presume some poor soul has been pilloried already for reminding everyone of other 'nearly' signings that went tits-up at the last minute?

Until I see him in a Sunderland shirt I'll remain in the hopeful camp. I just hope he's not playing silly buggers with us while trying to tempt one of his London mates into making a comparable bid.
