Declan Rice

I have, above

It seems you think a midfielder is either attacking or defensive. That is really silly, normally spouted by people who play too much on computer management games
I didn't see , so you'll have to tell me again?
Box to box midfielder, he plays number 8.
But he's played more games for Enland as a number 6

I don't play computer games, I watch alot of football though. Rice has played more of his career as a number 6 than a number 8. Before you start, I'm well aware he can play both role, if he's playing as a number 8 for Emgkand I stand by my original point , Engkand won't win a world cup with Rice as number 8

What's that got to do with Arsenal? 😂😂
Because of the original point , that's got a few backs up
Look yourself you lazy git 😂
And let's be honest he is more of a defensive number 8 than an attacking one like say Frank Lampard, I think most people would say Rice's better attributes are defensive, maybe everyone but yourself

Yet Arsenal are about to win the prem...
He's a far better player than Bellingham and it's not even close!

No he showing he's a much better player without the defensive shackles..hence Arteta and Tuchel playing him as the No.8 with Zubimendi and Elliott Anderson sitting deeper for their respective sides

4 goals in 42 matches this season, ( not sure hkw many were free kicks, think 2 off the top of my head) Definitely showing how good he is now the shackles are off.
Enzo 12 in 44 playing as a number 8, still shocked?

He does a lot of the nitty gritty you don't focus on. He's not pretentious like Bellingham either.

Yes his game is defined on goals scored. You're a proper football manager type..you didn't even know what position he has been playing 😂

I don't even know how to switch a computer on these days, I remember it being called championship manager, maybe you're more update to it than I am?

AI has run the numbers…

Comparison to Other MidfieldersRice excels particularly in all-around and progressive metrics, often leading or ranking very high among central/defensive midfielders. Recent analyses and rankings position him as one of the Premier League's (and potentially world's) top central midfielders this season.
  • Progressive Carries: 1st among Premier League midfielders
  • Accurate Passes to Final Third: 2nd
  • Expected Assists (xA): 1st or 2nd (sources vary, but consistently elite)
  • Shot Assists: 2nd
  • Touches / Passes: Often 1st (highest involvement in build-up)
  • Aerial Duels Won %: 2nd
  • Short Pass Completion %: 3rd
  • Passes to Final Third: 3rd
  • Accurate Crosses: 3rd
  • Progressive Actions: 3rd
In broader rankings of best Premier League midfielders for 2025/26 (analytical strength scores, market value proxies, or performance tiers), Rice frequently tops lists for central/defensive roles, ahead of players like Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernández, Bruno Guimarães, and others.

For attacking midfielders, names like Bruno Fernandes lead in goals/assists, but Rice's defensive + progressive edge sets him apart in hybrid comparisons.Compared to specific rivals (e.g., historical vs. Rodri or Moises Caicedo), Rice often shows advantages in areas like ground duels, interceptions (from past trends), and forward progression, while others may edge him in pure passing volume or shooting.

Overall, Rice's stats reflect a complete midfielder: defensively robust, progressive in possession, and increasingly threatening in the final third—contributing to discussions of him being among the best (if not the best) central midfielders currently in the league. For the most granular per-90 comparisons or specific opponents, sites like FBref, WhoScored, or Premier League official stats provide deeper percentile
