Saw them during the ambulance dispute in 1988/9 at Whitley day and again at Plymouth a couple of years ago.
Very good band live imo and they have aged well.

Perhaps, but Steely Dan were clearly a huge influence on those sophosti-pop artists from that time. China Crisis, Blue Nile, Prefab Sprout, Frazier Chorus, etc. Sade and Bryan Ferry too. Can't say I know Deacon Blue, but if they're half as good as those aforementioned bands, then I should check them out.
A lot of folk find that style of music dull. I guess it's a question of whatever floats your boat. As a fan of Dylan, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I'm with you. One of the few bands of my youth that I haven't got around to seeing.

The market for 80s and 90s touring bands is huge. Loads of middle-aged people wanting an evening of fun to relive the music of their younger days.

Would love to have seen them on this tour but none of the dates worked out for me. Maybe next time.
