in short - 2 year deal for jennings, 1 year for richardson, 1 year for thorp, blacky to stay [im sure we will happily lose him if we can mind], top order overseas batsman is wanted.

good stuff all round really/

Pleased to see Richardson is staying, was talk at the Sussex game that he'd turned down the 1 year contract.

Good to see Jennings sorted with a contract as he was playing under an academy contract.

Delighted to see Thorp staying on, very good cricketer and it will keep Harmison well away from the 1st team.

All good.

i think that article states there was alot of deliberation over whether or not he would sign as he didn't think he would ever oust mustard, but now he has got in the team based on his batting he is happy to stay. i assume the one year contract is insurance for him in case we sign an overseas bat and he can't get back in the side, but i don't think that will happen.

even with new bat if it happens

rocky, jennings, overseas, stokes, richardson, collingwood, mustard, borthwick, wood/thorp, onions, rushworth.

smith, claydon, harrison in reserve.. plus muchall, benks & bressy for one day stuff

looks fairly sharp with or without an overseas IMO

As long as they play as they did in the second half of the season rather than the first.

Personally, I think that side would struggle to stay up, definitely if Onions ended up getting the England call. A lot depending on who the overseas is, and whether Stokes and Colly can start chalking.

Bowling is paper thin although there is enough in the home wickets for the seamers to get something out of it.

I know money ultimately talks but if I was a top class international batsman I wouldn't fancy a season batting at the Riverside every other game!!

If we could wangle it somehow and he was out of the international frame and keen I would love to see Mike Hussey back though.

Hussey or someone like Laxman would be immense.

Any good overseas batsman that will be available in all forms, all season, and get 1100 runs batting top 3 in the County Championship will do. Years ago those kind of players were 10 a penny from Australia...

Please, please, please get Hashim Amla.

Apparently he doesn't play IPL,maybe for religious reasons as he is a devout Muslim, so he could be available for the 1st half of the season-International commitment rule him out for the 2nd half. I think Durham have accepted they won't be able to get a top man for the whole season and have to split the job.

South Africa's only international cricket next summer is the ICC Champions Trophy in June.

i really thought ponting was close to happening last year, where is his international career at now, i think he is back in the fold isnt he? cannit last forever at his age mind

Thought they were scheduled for a series in Sri Lanka in July If not ,let's get the guy signed.

Not sure. They weren't last time I checked like. Worth pointing out that the Champions Trophy is over here too.
