Onions - 40 wickets at 14.03
Rushworth - 19 wickets at 14.11
Thorp - 25 wickets at 20.36
Borthwick - 6 wickets at 23.50
Stokes - 17 wickets at 24.65
Harrison - 10 wickets at 26.00
Blackwell - 9 wickets at 29.11.
Claydon - 14 wickets at 29.43

I doubt any other side in the country have 8 bowlers in their rank taking wickets at under 30 a piece. Makes the batting failings look all the more shocking and who would have thought that Harmison and Plunkett wouldn't be part of 8 bowlers in the club with stats like those.

Good to see Onions has been working on his batting, higher batting than bowling average :shock:

Stokes may have underperfomed with the bat yet he tops the averages, has scored 1 of only 2 centuries scored by Durham players and has 14 wickets. Not the worst of a 2nd full season.

Yorks would have to get promoted, Lancs is possible but he wouldn't get the assistance he would from the pitches as he would at Trent Bridge or Lords.
It's entirely plausible he'll stay at Durham and be travelling off with England anyway.

Nah both Buttsy/John are playing, so need for another spinner.

Quite a lot as they are both wasters at the moment.

The bowling has been excellent all season

cannit see it happening personally.

not really much of a gap between 1st and 2nd div cricket - doesnt seem to bother the cricketers so much, and likewise the selectors dont seem to let it affect much. i guess onions though being on the cusp of selection it may come into his thinking.

but i very much doubt it. would be canny shit after we stuck with him through 18 months of injury hell[due to england] if he then immediately fucked us off in an attempt to get back with england
