Been over to Barnard Castle School today to watch mixed U12 and U13 DCB sides play their first game of the season. Got a bit chilly like but there was a real nice occurrence early afternoon.

You'll remember the school teacher Mark Bushnell who died a couple of weeks ago; his 12 year old son scored 115 not out. A great innings from the lad watched by his mother.

Bit of an intake of breath when the bairn was dropped on 97!

Not many other large scores. Wickets in early April for the bairns pretty much the same as for the seniors; low bounce and a few LBW's.

The young lass from Eppleton did her and her watching family proud and all in all some talented kids on view who will only get better as the season wears on. Bairns came from a multitude of clubs.
