My favourite memory of him wasn't his batting or his boozing or his fielding but the game against Kent at Darlo in 97 when,with time running out and the light fading, he took the last 2 wickets with his 'spin' to give us our first Championship win since 1995.

Even the old gadgees were going mental at the end.
