David Bedingham

It might be that Lees becomes an option for the Test squad this co9ming season. He did play well last year.
It's mental that some (non-DCCC followers I presume) are advocating Gay as an England opener. I read that he is considered 'reliable' by some. McKinney often mentioned still too. Probably the same folk who remember a different Potts to the one we saw (some of) last season.

Gay has the sort of game that will work at test level. Does well on flat decks.

Has done well for the Lions in England and now Aus too.

He's struggles in county seaming conditions. You don't get that often at test level.

English test pitches are batting paradises these days with the shite Dukes balls too.

Don't agree

He looks suited to test cricket more than slow low wickets of the CC

Think he can play on quicker pitches abroad too

He's out of contract and so not our player for next season as it stands
The Cricketer is a reliable source and so is the Mail on cricket issues. It's reporting that he's agreed on a 1 year extension despite interest from Yorkshire. Probably as it stands it's only a verbal agreement and awaiting final signing off.
Pedantically what you post may well be correct.

Why didn't you share before marra!

Delighted to hear it.

Yes I'd take them sources as gospel over Durham too!

Confirmation of above in this month's Cricketer. Says he's particularly keen to improve his T20 stats. Implies we'll only be seeking one other overseas for Blast.
I'll be disappointed if we aren't looking to get a second overseas for the red-ball stuff, especially with the gaps in our bowling attack.

I think i heard on here we're looking for an Aussie bowler.

My hunch is possibly Boland or Doggett.

Doubt if either would be interested given their previous experience of NE England springtime climate and even if they were Cricket Australia could well veto it or at very least limit their availability.
Test series v New Zealand begins early June. A young kiwi prior to the tour could be an option.

Absolutely delighted

Make him the main across all 3 formats and he should absolutely shine next season.

No coincidence him being in and out of the side impacted us last season.

As bad our bowling was he'd have got us over the line staying up if he'd played all 14 games.
