David Bedingham

Great article. He comes across as a really humble lad and has a brilliant attitude to succeed in the sport.

Dont understand this setting his sights on the England top order blether. He just played for WP as a local player. It would take him three years before he would be eligible to play for England.

It’s a strange article, there’s nothing obvious in Bedingham’s quotes that would suggest he’s even thinking about it. If he’s said it, it certainly wasn’t mentioned there.

Reads more that he’d rather come and have a proper pre-season heading into a full season of cricket than hang around for a T20 tournament at the arse end of a season in SA.

this article gives greater clarification. He's still hoping to gain qualification for England with an ancestral visa.

Still not quite sure why he went back to play provincial cricket in SA.
Was it just to go back home play some decent standard cricket or was it a last effort to try and get international recognition with SA.
He knows to qualify for England he has to spend a certain amount of days in England each year so he had to come back early anyway. He has got the comfort blanket of a 3 year contract at Durham as overseas pro on money that will be huge compared to the salaries in SA domestic cricket.
