Dave Challinor - managerial rumour

I'd go with Maric too but because I think his background means that he could be genuinely top class, we might never get another chance to appoint him. Like Mainz having Jurgen Klopp, or Aberdeen having Fergie.

And wake up...

We never getting anyone brilliant. Only cheap and run of the mill. If anyone we appoint ever turns out to be amazing, it will be an accident.

Best snap Dave up quickly. No doubt he'll be on the wanted list of every European club without a head coach for his achievements at Hartlepool and Stockport.

The difference is Still and Maric have been at clubs that play complex, modern tactical systems and helped prepare teams for managers they work with against opponents like that.

Some of the football in League Two is rank and tactically one dimensional. To be good and competitive, you need to have demonstrated more than just doing well against League Two opponents and lower. I don't know anything about Stockport or Challinor, but he's surely going to require an awful lot more to make us a promotion side than he's had to use and display before now I'd guess, and where has he tried, demonstrated that or got the experience of participating in that before now? It would be better to take a manager who has brought a team up into the Championship and exceeded expectations in this division as a better foundation of them having what's required. I mean Phil Parkinson has smashed that League this season as well but we don't rate his football.

The problem is we are a club that wants delivery now...not someone who can develop over the next three or four years.
