Dave Challinor - managerial rumour

I know Stockport are quite ambitious for their level but he achieved success at Hartlepool without the finances. Has been a manager I have mentioned several times but admittedly it is a big step up.

Still mental that people are equating managing in the National League and League 2 to how tough it is in the Championship.

Can you imagine sacking Mowbray, an entire career of playing and then managing at championship level........then ending up with Dave Challinor, via Michael Beale and Doddsy. 🤣🤣
The Sunderland way. Nothing Will Still surprise me

There's a few in this thread saying look at his record in the National League and League 2, and yeah I'd not be that disappointed. You said yourself you'd have him over Robinson, when the answer should be I don't want either.
Your answer is that, not everyone's.
Mine is I wouldn't want him but you can't be telling people what they should be thinking

Rumours starting to circulate that he could be the new boss.

Most recently at Hartlepool and Stockport County.

A win percentage of 53% across his career.

An average PPG of 1.82 across his career.

Highest level managed is League Two - unexpectedly won League Two last season with Stockport.

Known locally for playing entertaining football at Hartlepool.

Won the National League North with Fyle, promoted via the National League Play-Offs with Pools, won the National League and League Two with Stockport.

Currently 10/1 with SkyBet.
Was he the bloke with the long throw in?

Who do you want?
I'd have done all we could to try and get Steve Cooper in. Especially in light of finance now supposedly been thrown at the Still deal.

Not sure what else to say to that, apart from some in our fanbase have a very low expectation.

Who has 'equated managing in the National League and League 2 to how tough it is in the Championship'?

All of them I've seen (including my own) are just giving a biography of his career and/or his stats, which is a pretty normal thing to do given it's likely most will not have heard of him.
