Danny Rose

Hope he's alright, seemed to have a few personal issues and not sure he ever loved being a footballer but he seemed to enjoy his time here and was one of the loan players that I look back on fondly. Hopefully got enough money to set himself up for life and is just spending his days doing something that he enjoys. Can imagine the business of football could make anyone fall out of love with the sport when they're in it for a few years tbh
Being an elite level sportsperson must be a pretty miserable existence in a lot of ways, even more so these days with social media.

Aye, and I think when you've come through an academy and seen a load of your friends cast aside without a second thought it must rile you up a bit when you're suddenly meant to show "loyalty" to a club that you know would drop you in an instant if you stopped being valuable to them. Even if you made the grade at your childhood team I expect it wouldn't be as magical as you'd imagine. I'd take it mind, but aye, can't blame players who don't love the game when they're in it

I can never recall him being an arsehole during his time here like. In fact, I’d say we’d have all wanted 10 Danny Roses
To be fair, I don't think anyone can claim not to have acted like an arsehole at some point in their life. My view comes from working alongside the lad and from experiences of others that worked with him. Not saying anymore on the subject. Admittedly, he was a good loan signing for us.

Saw his brother play for South Shields a couple of years ago. He had a suspended sentence hanging over him for cracking someone's jaw. Looked a decent player but his chequered career suggests he hasn't made the most of his ability.
Yeah, he was with Shields for half a season and made quite an impact but then got released - which seemed a strange decision
