Found guilty of sexual assault and given 4 years and 6 months in prison (and he has been detained for a year or so already as they thought he would flee to Brazil, and they don’t extradite their own citizens)

Not that surprising given how often he changed his story.

Are more and more footballers becoming sleazy bastards or is it more women speaking up and being taken seriously?

It’s crazy the amount of players being charged for these crimes in recent years.

The ones u know about . Bet there's loads you never hear of due to pay offs . And drug taking drink driving assaults etc etc etc

Bit of both I think - footballers are earning more money than ever, so more of them think they are invincible, act like bell beds and assume every local woman wants to shag them. Women are also being encouraged to speak up about things since the #metoo movement and various other things.

This, there are dodgy fuckers all over the place. Wonder if it's that you're more likely to hear about them when it's someone in a position of celebrity or power, or whether someone like that is more likely to use the position they're in to take advantage of others.
