Dan Neil

He needed a rest, can see his body the way he runs, he doesnt look fresh. Definately need a rest ASAP. Tactically, he's brilliant.
We know where we are now and know that in a months time we've got two massive playoff games to play. The league for us is settled, so I really hope they take care with the squad and ensure they are all well rested and prepared for these games. No excuse really. Give likes of Harrison Jones, Samed, Aleksic a run out.

Personally think his physicality and mobility will let him down in the premier league.
Two things that he cannot really improve upon, but these are 2 attributes that a central midfielder needs to have, to be in control of a midfield. Gets dispossessed far too easily and rarely wins duels; that's in the Championship. He might have the technical skills of a premier player, but that's about it.

Far too isolated last night with the other two midfielders miles away from him. When we’re building from the back one of them needs to drop in then they can push up when we’re moving up the pitch.

Jesus people man chill out, it was a nothing game, as are the next couple, and yes Neil wasn’t great without his normal parter but he will be back for the big games so no worry.

The bedwetters better prepare to get really angry next couple of weeks while we rest and rotate, before putting our best team out last home and away games going into play offs.

I’d recommend you don’t bother watching them tbh, you’re not going to like them.

This in a nutshell
It was embarrassing and looked like a pre-season friendly
Our next 3 or 4 will be the same

It's his brain that will let him down more imo. Nearly every game he makes a mistake which could easily cost a goal, stray passes or pissing about, in particular. You can't do stuff like in the Premier League and get away with it.

I said at the start of the season we would struggle with three players.

Neil was one in particularly I don’t rate him like others do.
However he has been exposed..here is why.

The holding role, defensive role isn’t suited to him and over the years he’s been forced into this role. His game time has forced him to adapt but is far from
Comfortable.

The second point is exposure. We play a three on midfield. Both Bellingham and Rigg play very high. If they have an off day Neil is hugely exposed. Then teams steam roll through he stands out more and comes under criticism.
Bellingham was superb in early games in the season Neil did well.
When this bottomed out with him and Rigg Neil has been the stand out negative.

This caused a problem. Regis should have experiment with two holding players.
He has with the inverted full
Back which Neil has had better games but this exposed Hume who got criticised.
It’s what happens when you hammer square pegs in round holes.
We are desperate for a no nonsense DM. It isn’t Neil.

All that waffle to try and say a player who simply hasn't been exposed has been exposed.
Utter nonsense

Oh and it's nice to see you highlight you were wrong in saying these players would struggle

I wasn’t wrong. Lovely to see you join in with an opposing opinion.
Maybe it’s beyond you. Night sweat pea. 🫛

The problem with your analysis is that Neil wasn't playing well at the start of the season when Jobe was at his best. His performances picked up more when Jobe's form started to drop off, albeit the odd game- including last night- aside. To say he's been a stand out negative since the form of Jobe and Rigg bottomed out is just nonsense.
