Dan Neil

That's what vast experience gives you. He's my favourite player.
He's a bang average championship player, excellent for the squad but he's nowt flash.

Alongside Mepham at Coventry he's arguably put in the worst single performance this season down at Preston

The only logical explanation for that performance was instinct took over and he forgot he didn’t play for the home side there anymore.

Who should be captain?

Tbh, there was no need to change it from Onien, but Mepham has shown more leadership on the pitch than most this season.

You think that I'm having a go at Neil, but I'm not. The lad has had a very good season overall, but just like Jobe and Rigg, he's shown signs of fatigue and sometimes just a lack of form itself. Personally, I don't think giving him the arm band has improved his play.

Why O'Nien? The side under his captaincy was a joke, limped to a 16th place finish. Not his fault but what leadership did he show? We're now 4th..I think way too much is made of the captaincy

Your allowed to think what you want mate, I'm not here to change your mind.

I think it's put added pressure on the lad. I don't see what he adds as a Captain. He should have just been left to continue his progression as a foorballer, plenty of time for an armband (if he stays that is). As for last season, and finishing 16th, how are you blaming Onien for that?...Dan Neil was a mainstay in that team too.

It's funny isn't it. Every window they talk about our depth and then we've got players who've played every game. Take Jan for instance. "We've got more than enough defensive options" said Regis. Yet a couple of injuries and we are playing midfielders at the back! Thankfully Browne is compitent!

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Samed had come in fit and ready to go in the summer. The lad had an impressive enough CV to think he'd cut it easy enough in this league, yet he's been a total waste. Has that long term injury and the inevitable it's taken to get back to fitness played a part?....I've no doubt it has, but you would have thought he would have been the ideal player to rotate with Neil. Sadly, that just hasn't worked out.

Browne showed his experience on Saturday. He's not a flashy footballer, but when you're looking for that extra bit of experince and knowhow to come into the first 11, it's players like him who come in and just do their job.

I'd be happy with a midfield pairing of Browne and Triantis next season, if we do end up selling lots of players. 2 big strong blokes who can play football, we won't be much weaker in that department especially with wads and wads of cash to spend!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 are you being serious?

So you would be happy if we went from a midfield of rigg jobe and Neil to triantis and Browne?

Thats a bottom half midfield pairing if there ever was one

Eh? I'm asking why O'Nien. You won't change my mind

Well youve made absolutely no sense there. I didn't want my mind changing and I haven't blamed O'Nien. I've literally said that.

I've just said why O'Nien and you haven't answered 🤷

I didn't say I wanted to change you're mind man ffs! 🤣

Onien is far more experienced, and clearly has a better way of articulating himself. He does a lot of work on players mental heath and the likes. I'm sure he does a podcast on such things with an expert on various different things about footballers wellbeing. I don't see players going to Dan of they're having a problem, they'll definitely go to see Onien instead.

I also mentioned Mepham, who, when he came into the side, started managing players on the field, and getting the defence in order. There's also Browne who's got bags of experince in the captains role. Dan Neil didn't need to be captain, and in MY OPINION it may have been more of a burden on the lad rather than him just going out and concentrating on his football.

Every player in the squad look up to Browne, so that should give us the answer to who should be captain
I can understand that logic however he doesn't get in our strongest side

I know you didn't 😂 you said you didn't want to change ..i said I didn't want it changing 🤷

That's why O'Nien is club captain. I don't see the big problem with Neil's captaincy tbh. Yes he's still learning and growing into the role but I didn't see what difference Browne (who doesn't get in our strongest 11 anyway), Mepham or O'Nien would make

A piece of material around your arm doesn’t mean fuck all Neil won’t be the only one solely leading the team just because he has a arm band on people think he’s doing it all himself and he’s responsible for everything that’s not how it works you an have many leaders
