Dan Neil

First third is a stretch.

You continue to mention Coventry yet every last player on the pitch wasn’t at it.

As for my ‘survay’ every fan with eyes agrees he’s been our best player, I don’t include the bob dylan avatar poster in this as he is clearly a virgin who was bullied at school and never kicked a ball in his life.

Thanks for quoting my spelling error, good job you were able to edit the gobbledygook posted, as it may have looked a bit silly otherwise.

I will continue to mention Coventry yes, as his performance was matched only by Roberts, who very few have come to expect much from. There are levels to being not at it.

Every fan with eyes clearly doesn't agree, that's a silly suggestion, as for the virgin and bullied at school stuff, equally silly, Im sensing a trend.
It's probably quite a lot. From the day we moved from Roker to the SOL and we doubled our attendence overnight the footballing IQ of the attending public, at minimum, halved.

Good job you're about to evaluate that IQ as the all-knowing.

I am mate. I know football. Hence why I very rarely post on football threads any more. The posts hurt my eyes.

Worth more than 15 million?
Bloody hell. This place is crazy.
His still relatively young, played a lot of championship games and captained his club. Anyone else would expect way more imho. Look at some of the fees clubs toss about for English players. £15m to a premier league side is nowt let’s be honest.

Has really improved again this season. Excellent player imo.

He hasn’t shown excellence this season. He should never of been made captain.
This position he isn’t comfortable with hence why we gave tried him more advanced.
I don’t blame Neil. I blame the management of him. Needs someone along side where in effect he’s left to do everything. Then makes a mistake cops for the grief.
15 million for him. Not a chance.
He has delayed signing a contract. Needs to commit or fuck off.

Mine was a mis type yours was a glaringly obvious spelling error that indicates your level of intelligence, im sensing a trend 😉

Which prem team will he go to and command a position?
Just my opinion, you don’t have to agree with me
that’s what the boards for. No offence. 🤘

Think we all hoped Samed would be the decent defensive midfield player we need. Hasn’t turned out that way though.

If we got to the premier I would hope that we were looking to improve on Neil, so while I’d like him to stay, 15million would be a good deal…especially if he won’t sign a new deal

Always enjoy these types of posts. Entirely anecdotal, not a shred of evidence to fall back on, but absolutely assured enough to go with the ‘they’re thick’ hypothesis and conclusion despite that.

Well played.

I’m not having a pop at u personally but this seems to be the questions all the Dan neil doubters or haters have of him.

Why should he never have been made captain ?

How does anyone know it’s affecting him ?

If u watch the games at the ground he’s the one player who game in game out is orchestration where people should be and trying to control the game.

He’s played very well consistently apart from a few games early on and Coventry where everyone was poor.

He’s 22/23 and since he’s played for us he’s never had a player who he can learn from in the middle of the park.
Jobe is the first player he’s played 2 seasons alongside and he’s 18/19.

I think anyone in this league takes Dan neil and he plays in their strongest 11.

But what’s that based on? Have you watched Leeds, Burnley and Sheffield United enough to say that he’s more effective, more controlling, and more influential than the midfield options they have? Just taking Sheffield United as an example, is he dislodging a fit Hamer, Arblaster or Chowdhury?

He’s a sound player Neil, with some real strengths and also obvious limitations but what has he shown to demonstrate that he gets in every side’s strongest eleven? I think it’s that type of exaggeration that results in such a polarising view of him.

I’m not saying I’m right.

But what I’d say is.
He’s better than chowdhury.

If he was on a free how many clubs would take him ??

I’ve watched him in both games v sheff Utd and Burnley and get the better of any of the midfielders he was up against.

Its opinions and I get that.

I’d bet if he was available every club in this league would take him.
Every manager we’ve had recently has spoken of how important he is.

They might have spoken of how important he is to us. Not that he’d be in every other team’s strongest eleven. Managers have spoken very warmly and of the importance of O’Nien and Roberts but they don’t get in every other sides strongest XI either.

I think our midfield is a problem generally. I don’t think it’s aggressive or physical enough, I don’t think it’s mobile enough, and I don’t think it controls games for long periods anything like consistently. It’s why, again IMO, rely on individual moments of quality to win most of the games we do win by the odd goal. Dan Neil is a consistent part of that midfield. He is undoubtedly a very competent second tier player, some very good attributes at the level, but there’s a lot of getting carried away about those qualities (and also a tendency for some to go with the ‘he’s shit’ line which is equally as daft)
