Dan Neil

Of all the players mentioned as being for sale this summer, unless he is going to sign a new contract I wouldn't be disappointed to see him go if it meant keeping others

It’s a funny one.

He had a really poor start to the season and it seemed to go on for months. Then around November / December time he started to play well and he was probably one of our better players up until around the end of last month before his form has fallen off a cliff again.

If we were offered £15m for him I’d take it personally.

If we fail to go up, the players rumoured to be leaving, the money we will have to spend, RLB will feel as though he is playing Champ Man.
Serious note, it does worry me what next season will look like if we fail to get promoted

Completely in the hands of the club isnt it.

Youd like to think with the money wed receive we could bring in good enough players to go up.

But i think if it does happen, we will double down on the 'project' and bring in a mix of youth and experience and end up having a transition season.

Dont think the fanbase will be over the moon with that, but objectively it may be for the best, mod to long term.

One bad game and this place wants him peddled?

How is that going to work if we are down here and Bellingham has left, while we’re being offered crazy money for Rigg?

Building the whole midfield from scratch will set us back at least a season.

We need to keep Neil.
If he won’t sign a deal the club will look to move him on regardless if we sell jobe and rigg. They won’t turn down £15m if the lad won’t sign and lose him for nowt the following summer.

Personally I think he’s worth more than that - not that I want to see him go mind.

People were saying that when Clark went oh & when Stewart went as well. Players come & go.

He’s had a few more bad games than one. If 15 million is up for grabs for Neil it is extremely good business.
If we lose Neil, Jobe and Rigg in the summer would be a hell of a rebuild. One will go, outside bet for two, Three is Armageddon.

All three won’t go. We are building not selling the lot.

Like we were meant to be getting relegated this season when we lost Clark?
We also lost amed. Brought in Enzo. What if we replace the players going out with better players?
Three in one go is a bit of a concern in my opinion. Yer right though...chance for some serious money and some squad building. But its also keeping the seemingly good atmosphere we have in the dressing room. Anyway if deals are done hope they are quick.

Neil always underappreciated at SAFC I feel, and the sort of player we perhaps take for granted and will only realise how big a miss he is when he leaves. I think he's been really good for us this season too.

But for a while I've thought the contract situation had entered the danger zone, and I think the club will look to cash in if we don't go up. Roma would be a great move for him.
