Dan Neil

My reply was not to you, and you were the one who was talking about the previous couple of months.
Yes he was poor that is why he was hooked off, no one is disagreeing. It is the conceptual idea he is now shit which I arguing.
Fair enough mate. I certainly don’t think he’s shit, he’s much better that he’s showed last two games though.

He really wouldn’t be that controversial a player if people just settled down a bit on either extreme.

He’s a good, second division player that can be classy on the ball. Talk of him being shite is silly but equally so is some of the top level potential attributed to him by many on here.

Decent second tier player that has some really excellent games and some really poor ones. A less injury prone and slightly more sensible second tier Lee Cattermole.

The midfield unit hasn’t functioned well for months. They don’t control games despite individual qualities. That’s why we rarely win games by anything more than the odd goal and why we frequently concede late ones
You have been incredibly quiet for months on Dan Neil until today.

Curious that

Sorry mate but just have to disagree with you there . Jobe the untouchable was the worst of the bunch today . He has strolled through the month of March so far . Hasn't raised a sweat . He should have been replaced at the same time as Neil . How he and Roberts got so much time on the pitch today is beyond me.

That's no worries boss, only my perspective. Jobes form has flat lined since January but still at his worse, imo, he has strength and reach, he was able to make a couple of tackles today kept possession of the ball in it's most basic shape at times, those alone mean he played a far better game than Neil, only imo ofc. Neil constantly failed to get hold of the ball and when the opportunity came to pass it he failed.

I was harsh I'm the op, he wasn't as bad as Catts was at times but that's only because Lee could look like a pub player at his worst. And Roberts was no better but I have so little expectations of him it doesn't count. Not to mention wingers have plenty of off days not afforded to cms.

But back on Jobe, shadow of the player was for the first 4 months, looks so leggy but his peaks and consistency during that time is far higher than Neil's has been.

Is also fatigued.
I'd like to know how many minutes of football this season our midfield three of Neil Jobe and Rigg have played compared to Coventry's today

The thing with Neil is he’s always willing to take the ball in tight areas, and you will inevitably lose it fairly often and more notably, I feel that’s how he gets singled out a lot more. Yeah the last few games he hasn’t performed well. But I think he’s been our best midfielder over the season so far.

(Awaits pelters 😂)

I wish he was as good as cattermole

When he plays well the team plays well, when he doesn't...
He's our playmaker and recently has been getting no help in the middle from a jaded Jobe.
Put a Kante type player alongside him and he would have far less bad games.

Surely if he’s as good as perceived he shouldn’t be losing it fairly often?

That is one of the benchmarks of a good midfielder. Taking the ball under a lot of pressure and looking after it. Losing the ball all the time isn’t really an attribute or link to being a good midfielder

I said before kickoff, Jobe, Neil and Rigg is a weak as fuck midfield in any league. They have all the potential and talent in the world but no match for an organised, physical championship midfield

Acting like it’s the end of the world if they leave ffs

Yes.

Can’t agree more with this.

Jobe and Neil are a weak midfield.

Jobe rarely has a decent match and Neil his hit and miss.

Jobe, Roberts and Neil seem undroppable to RLB.

I would drop all three in heartbeat next week.

Nothing much to replace them with but they need to know that poor performances mean a spell on the bench.
That's the thing isn't it. They can play dog shit but still get picked. Shambles
