I think they rely on it. 3-4 years ago in Liverpool one night (a Thursday iirc) me and the missus were looking for somewhere to get something to eat round the marina area about 9 in the evening and everywhere was shut or closing. Ended up having to go to that McDonalds. It had its own security guards.
