I thought the op had done a typo and meant "Battered Bun"A curry batter bun is simply that...a white soft bun, filled with batter and curry sauce poured on.
Nothing more nothing less![]()
I was about to post exactly this. Next door to Dart taxis.Church street chippy( next to the jacksons) 25p in the year 1990. Little owld ganny who served used to chuck a couple of chips in there n'all. Lush.
Yes
Aye, mind for me it was a tie with Church Street chippy in Roker. The curry was lovely. Both chippys did massive curry battered buns and unlike some chippys who used to dip the bun only in the curry, these chippys poured loads of curry on them.Silver Grid on Sea Road was the best, no question
Bloody hell ,that place brings back memories. Jimmy Hayes and shaun hall took me there once after the hendon grange. Lovely. Didnt it used to do mad stuff like snails in garlic? Seem to remember thatHole in the wall, Grangetown, c1989 15p. The non deep fried version. Were tremendous.
Probably did. f***ing hell Jim Hayes, last time I saw him was the front page of the echo for fraud!Bloody hell ,that place brings back memories. Jimmy Hayes and shaun hall took me there once after the hendon grange. Lovely. Didnt it used to do mad stuff like snails in garlic? Seem to remember that

Sounds like you could soetvyour own? Get a tub of curry sauce, batter off your chips, buns, assemble.I think people underestimate how nice they were. The crunch of the batter when you bit through the soft bun,and the explosion of curry flavour filling your mouth. Yum
That version sounds liftinThe hut do battered buns filled with chips and curry sauce.
