Cup, League or Europe?

As long as we stay up, Europa League would be the one surely in terms of a cup run, nevermind a cup win. FA Cup whether we like it or not is unfortunately not as big as it once was. Out of all the lads I know (big football fans) barely any of us even bothered to watch this year’s final, including me. Forgot it was even on to be honest. I’d still love to see us win it mind, I just feel like for neutrals whose teams aren’t in it, not many give a fuck now about the semis or even final. I do wonder how much the semis being at Wembley take the shine off it, I know it does for me.

There's no real money in any cup competition bar the Champions League. Therefore we need to massively concentrate on the league and then Europa next because of the very outside chance of winning it.
You qualify for the Champions League if you win the Europa League, and we don't know when we'll next qualify for it again. Yeah, we should be in a good position to be European regulars but this is the first time and we need to go for it.

We got about 50 million euros for winning the Europa League in total.

Thats hardly "no real money".

Well worth going deep in.
Wow I didn't know that. Of course the club will know. You had that amazing run of wins which even had you as title challengers! Can you win the League next season? Assuming Rogers is going are you linked to anyone to replace him?

Anyone choosing relegation should be kicked off this site ffs.
We'd instantly lose 90% of our squad, not to mention the manager and then have to start all over again with someone else's " 5 year plan". I've been listening to 5 year plans since before Ian McColl and I haven't many more left in me.
A repeat of this season(bar Port Vale) would be absolutely massive for me hoping for a small improvement up the table.

The pragmatic, sustainable answer is don't embarrass ourselves in the Europa and make the knockout stages hopefully, pretty much fuck the FA cup off, and aim to finish in the European spots again next season.

Which is, tbf, sensible.

I say fuck that, go balls out in the Europa, avoid getting relegated on goal difference on the final day, and get Champions League football after winning the Europa to go with our nice shiny FA cup

I would take winning either the Europa or FA Cup over anything else including staying in the PL to be honest
Can’t believe when I read things like this
For the sake of a drunken weekend in London with your mates you would accept relegation and maybe another few years of pub league purgatory
Oh but we won a tin pot cup ( FA or Carabao) no one else cares about

If we win the Europa next season I'd want to stop watching football since we've peaked. Your fact has ruined that, now, Andy.

They can play the stiffs in the two domestic cups next season for me tbh. I'm usually dead set against them putting weakened teams out for these as realistically they're the only chance we've got of lifting a trophy but they can have a free pass in them next season.

I'd be delighted if we won nowt but gave a decent account of ourselves on all fronts and finished in European contention again. Slowly slowly catchy monkey.

The league has to be the priority without it we can't move forward.
If we can get through the 1st phase of the Europa fair enough and it pays for the lower % we can spend.
Both cups are a pass for me.
Established clubs have struggled with Europe and league look how bad it got for Palace this years, then plenty more examples. We are still in a building just to survive phase so need to be careful.
It would be a hell of a lot to ask Xhaka to play twice a week, and cup games given his age, is it even feasible. We all know how much he is missed given he spends the whole game telling players where to be.
We need to improve the team let alone the squad so its another very big summer for us, hope we can do as well as last year.
