Crystal Palace v The Mags

It's amazing how poor the PL looks.

Burnley
Leicester
Bournemouth
Brighton
Bournemouth
Palace
Southampton
The mags
Swansea
Stoke
Huddersfield
West Brom

It could be mistaken for the championship.
Apart from Leicester and Southampton how much less have the mags spent than those other clubs in the last 2 years

They'll beat Huddersfield, West Brom and Southampton and scrape a few spawny draws. Hope I'm wrong like
Assuming they don't beat Man Utd, by the time they play Southampton it'll be 5 months since they won a home game, and you think they're suddenly going to win 3 out of 4? They could do, but it seems an unjustified assumption given the absolute atrocity that is their home record. I reckon at best they'll win 2 of that 3, and they'll be needing a couple of snookers elsewhere.

Couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo today, could of been out of sight with that second half performance.
I don't think I've ever seen a more one-sided 2nd half as that. I reckon Wilfred Zaha had more possession than Newcastle Utd in the 2nd half.

All the bottom half teams have a few games to come with the top 6.

If Newcastles season date is anything to go by we will likely win some away matches that were not expected - and fail to win the supposedly home bankers still to come (Huddersfild, Southampton and West brom).

With Slimani in the team we may be more direct at home - so the home form might turn in our favour from here on in.

Our last 2 games are Watfird away and Chelsea at home - those could be dead rubber games for those 2.
Watford are in the shit and will be til the end

Lads and lasses, you do realise that IF by some miracle CC keeps us up and the mags go down, we could be in for a couple of pastings next season ? Given that, do we really want them go be relegated ?
We will be as weak as piss as ES makes further cutbacks, whilst the skunks will probably keep most of that championship winning squad and, possibly have new ambitious owners.
That's not a scenario I'd look forward to.

I would love it pardew relegated them love it :D

West Brom are definitely going down, .....
Their last 5 games are ManU (a), LPool (h), Newc (a), Spurs (h), Palace (a) - cannot see a single point from that lot ~ unless of course they scrape 1 from us.

And Stoke and Huddersfield I think if they continue on their current trends - they are down

Just having a look at the table - everyone in the bottom 10 has to play a top 6 side 4 0r 5 times aside from Swansea (3). Newcastle have 5 games Vs top sides - which admittedly makes it tough.

Southampton only have 5 home games remaining - and 3 of those are Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City, They could easily drop.

Exactly. Newcastle’s home games that they will be banking on winning against Huddersfield, Southampton and Wba could go either way especially with the mags shocking home form.

Liverpool and Spurs at home are winnable like, both sides prone to dodgy away performances. Then you and Palace are winnable as well.

I highly doubt 35 points will keep anybody up.
Stoke, Hudds and Swans all have a winnable home game next week. If all 3 were to win, that would leave the 17th placed team on 26/27 points with 11 games to go. A lot of teams down there are picking up wins. Huddersfield, WBA and Newcastle are the only ones that seemingly aren't.

Pen 3 out of 9, and 8 of the 9 could be on 28 or 27 pts after the next weekend.
PREDICTOR

I don't think there is anything to separate the quality of the first XI of the nine sides in danger. It may come down to squad players and injuries?

I'm not sure that 38 pts will be enough for safety.

I don't go much on momentum either. Clubs can go on a good run and then have a couple of stinkers. They can also play well and then the opposition exploit weaknesses which all the teams have.

Like Newcastle, all the teams have must win home games.

Brightons win against the West Ham, gives them a decent chance, but I think your right bout Huddersfield and West Brom they are goners

Huddersfield have have 5 of the current top 10 to play whereas Brighton have 8, Stoke & Southampton have 7, West Brom & Newcastle have 6 & Bournemouth & Swansea have 5. West Ham 7, Watford 6. Palace 6.

Too close to say any team is gone.

Newcastle and Watford have played Man C twice already,

And WBA have as well.

Newcastle United
v Manchester United - lose
AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United - draw
Liverpool v Newcastle United - lose
Newcastle United
v Southampton - draw
Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United - lose
Newcastle United
v Huddersfield Town - win
Leicester City v Newcastle United - lose
Newcastle United
v Arsenal - draw (Depends if old soft touch Arsenal or new Free Scoring Arsenal turn up as this could also end in defeat)
Everton v Newcastle United - draw
Newcastle United
v West Bromwich Albion - win
Watford v Newcastle United - draw
Newcastle United
v Chelsea - Win ( Dead Rubber like Spurs two Seasons Ago)

14 Points to take them to 39 Points

Don't see Huddersfield or West Brom getting there so straight fight between Swansea ( on the up)
Southampton ( who looked good against West Brom)
Stoke ( need to find a run soon)
Palace ( streets ahead of Mags in Second Half yesterday)
Brighton (seemed to have turned a corner)
West Ham ( Flatter to deceive but have 12 more points in them)

For me its between Stoke and the Mags with possibility of Brighton.
