Cricket Xmas presents

Any good ones? A bit sparse for me this Xmas. I got a book by Vic Marks on the cricket captains of England 1979-2025 and a couple of balls to use in the nets when practice starts.

Ashley Giles' autobiography and Duncan Hamilton's biography of Harold Larwood.
I read the Larwood book on holiday in September and couldn’t put it down.

Apparently there is a statue of him in the town he grew up in which is probably less than an hour from where I live. I often think about driving up there to have a look at it when I’m sitting around bored but I’ve not got round to it yet.

I got a Jelly Cat cricket ball with a cricket hat from the kids, like this one:

I put him in the Christmas tree šŸŽ„ but will probably go in the car when the tree comes down, if I can persuade my seamstress to fit a loop.

None of my living relatives understand cricket so I’m unlikely to receive a present in that ilk. However a great present for somebody would be ā€œField of Shadows.ā€ by Dan Waddell about the 1937 tour of Germany by the Gentlemen of Worcestershire.

I started reading over the weekend and also can't put it down, it is fantastic and a great insight into an era completely alien to most of us.
