If an England player had done what you have just suggested and holed out for 40/50, there would be huge questions asked as to why he didn't play the way Smith just did.

I’d be worried if Vince was opening, but if the openers can stay in for a bit and get a few runs, and the ball is that little bit older when 3, 4 and 5 in our line up come in then we should get the runs we need. As long we we score steadily. Starc is bound to take a couple of wickets so we need to ensure we don’t put ourselves under any needless pressure
