Cricket World Cup 2019

The reason they will continue to attend next year, is to watch the most entertaining/exciting cricket the England team has ever played.

People go to watch sport to be entertained and the England over the last 4 years has done that very very good.

Always confused why a test match in New Zealand is very important, while a ODI against the same team is meaningless, that’s just complete bollocks tbh

Spot on

to be honest its f***ing ridiculous logic that people are just going with as we have lost a few games

they sell out because people love cricket and every game you play for England means something.

People are allowed to go and huff but to just pretend now that all other cricket is meaningless is pretty pathetic

What was the point of our 4-1 test series over India last summer? None really like, but it was class and very enjoyble

Fully expect Pakistan to win today. Nothing they enjoy more than a must win game.

More fool anyone who forked out 60 quid to be forever reminded of this f***ing shambles. Same people who will continue to attend meaningless ODIs from next year no doubt
All jokes aside, that’s why it’s been changed, purely commercial reasons and the chance to fleece people

They're like international friendlies ffs. Just look at that shite last year against "Australia". They clearly didn't give a fuck. Same with Pakistan last month. Test cricket is the pinnacle of the game with over a century of tradition. You can't lump it in the same category ffs

By that same logic we “didn’t give a fuck” about the ashes last time in Oz and therefore it is a pointless international friendly match.

What an absolute load of shite you are talking.

good article about Starc, saying basically some of his half volleys are just as effective as yorkers due to the angle, speed and slight movement in air

Funnily enough I agree with most of the collumnists, that defeat yesterday wasn't that bad really, they bowled some great deliveries, we wasted the new bal and it was enoigh

its the other 2 defeats that were really poor, 1 terrible bowling and fielding performance and one collapse with the bat

I have a different angle in that all three defeats aren’t a big deal in isolation. The fact that it’s 3 in 4 games (with the other being Afghanistan which barely counts as a professional team this tournament let’s be honest) when we’ve barely lost a game for 4 years combined with Roy’s injury, Vinces inability to hold a bat, a couple of stupid shots from Morgan, Bairstow and Ali and several debatable selections in terms of bowling (not saying any of the choices are bad per se, but certainly some debate as to whether plunkett should be dropped, Ali, willey, Curran, 4/5 seamers, 1/2 spinners, Dawson as backup, etc.)

I'm taken by the thoughts on 'Tournament' play versus bilateral series. England do not look as finely tuned as some of the other sides. Of course, Australia have benefited greatly from the returns of Warner and Smith.

I just heard Morgan's post-match interview with R5. Piffle, really. It is preposterous to suggest that we bowled well with the new ball (Woakes excepted).

I doubt many people could sing that Pakistan national anthem. Some challenging shifts to minor tonality

... Fuck me. NZ are batting - on a used pitch under grey skies!

This arm guard oxenford uses. What happens on a sunny day if it glints into a batsmen’s eye?
