Cricket World Cup 2019

It's not hard to see why England are so good.

The top 5 all average around 40 or more in ODI's (Morgan only 39.5 ish) and all score at a run a ball or better. They can all hit sixes.

We then have 3 all rounders who are good enough with bat, ball and at fielding.

We now have 2 excellent 90 MPH+ bowlers and a good leg spinner who can bat a bit. Oh and 2 world class wicket keepers.

Crap fielding cost us against Pakistan but hopefully we've learnt from that painful lesson.

Most sixes in WC 2019 so far

1) Morgan 22
2) Finch 14
3) Sharma/Buttler 6

From the Guardian OBO. Unbelievable

When Morgan came out to bat, the leading six-hitter in this tournament was the Australian captain Aaron Finch, with 14, from 310 balls faced.

Morgan hit 17 sixes today, from only 71 balls – not one in 20-odd, but one in four

And Old Trafford is a big ground

Got called bottlers on here a quarter of the way through the Pakistan game!

"Same old England"

Little side note, great that Ali got some runs there, looked totally relaxed, maybe the break has done him good

Pressure on Vince to get runs, Ali or Stokes could easy open the innings if not, Stokes is actually fair better against the new ball than the older one

Its a fair point like you make

Even the Aussie's side that used to win were more functiomal weren't they

Over a 10 match series England would beat India comfortably IMO, in a one off game though its 50/50

I would love to win the world cup but the idea that we have to win it to justify the work we have put into it is bollocks, I enjoy watching the ODIs almost as much as the tests now, its class to watch and will continue longer after the WC

Yes, but pressure at the highest level wins the trophies. So I do think we need to tick it off to collect the 'best ever' accolades - and I think that's right. The great sides have all done it.
