It’s early doors obviously, but I don’t get this bowl first at all costs most teams seem to have these days, especially on roads like this. Already we’ve had a couple of games in the World Cup where scoreboard pressure has essentially done for the side batting second.

This would’ve been a perfect time for us to bat first and make a massive score.

I can understand bowling first after how poor Pakistan were in their opening game, but I see your point - judge the pitch and make a decision based on that.
 
Around 7 an over is not that much more that England's average score in the first power play, no panic here.

This is a 400 ground nowadays.
