Aye seems to be a complete lack of batsmen coming through for them. Someone mentioned Miller earlier, but even then he’s no great shakes at this level against the better teams. Too many bits and pieces cricketers who aren’t good enough in either discipline it seems.

Aye, basically if de Kock and du Plessis fail, they'll struggle a lot. In the short term, de Villiers' retirement has been a massive blow to them but they need players coming through longer term.

C1985 v Aus, Botham bowling to Border(?) young Gatt at extra cover. Critical in the context of the game as well.

No question it was a blow but he is in the wain too like, living off reputation for me.

TBH, even with him and Steyn fit, they'd be living off past glories. Steyn's not as much of a miss because they have improving bowlers but I still don't see them qualifying. 6th to 7th is my guess.

I wouldn't g that far personally, they a third in the world for a reason

I'd have Aussies ahead of them, they can take wickets, which is vital

Need to give a few weeks to see how teams settle.

Maybe I'm exaggerating but England, Aussies, NZ, India, whoever wins tomorrow look better set. They'll probably beat Bangladesh and then an unerprepared India (who'll then go on to win the world cup) and reach the semis.
 
Probably the two most unpredictable teams in the tournament. Could easily be 380 plays 370 or a 10 wicket win with one team completely imploding.

Maybe not Gatting but Emburey pulled off one almost identical down under 86/87 in ODIs.
 
20 degrees and cloudy and muggy, if they were playing with a red Duke this would be 150 a side. No doubt the white Kook will go for 300+

My tip would be same as always, wait for a couple of wickets to fall and dive on overs.
