Which bookies was that mate
Given that Root to score 50 and Archer to get OVER 2 wickets was a #yourodds special at 8/1, I'm smelling something.......

And Duminy. Surely David Miller is a better choice
Aye seems to be a complete lack of batsmen coming through for them. Someone mentioned Miller earlier, but even then he’s no great shakes at this level against the better teams. Too many bits and pieces cricketers who aren’t good enough in either discipline it seems. There was a comment on the BBC over by over thing today along the lines of "JP Duminy proves that you can be not very good at something but stay at the top level for a long time". I'd agree with @The Rat about Amla. He's an exceptional test batsman but shouldn't be in the 50 over team.

Cricket has changed beyond recognition from when I was a lad.
Can anyone imagine Mike Gatting trying to pull off that catch.
The fat fucker could barely bend over and tie his laces.
1981 wasn't it? Headingley miracleC1985 v Aus, Botham bowling to Border(?) young Gatt at extra cover. Critical in the context of the game as well.
Aye, basically if de Kock and du Plessis fail, they'll struggle a lot. In the short term, de Villiers' retirement has been a massive blow to them but they need players coming through longer term.
No question it was a blow but he is in the wain too like, living off reputation for me.
TBH, even with him and Steyn fit, they'd be living off past glories. Steyn's not as much of a miss because they have improving bowlers but I still don't see them qualifying. 6th to 7th is my guess.
I wouldn't g that far personally, they a third in the world for a reason
I'd have Aussies ahead of them, they can take wickets, which is vital
Need to give a few weeks to see how teams settle.
What you are smelling is Archer to be bowler of the world cup...Given that Root to score 50 and Archer to get OVER 2 wickets was a #yourodds special at 8/1, I'm smelling something.......

West Indies v Pakistan at Trent Bridge today. Bookies can’t split them
Chunkys tip of the day: Shai Hope top West Indies runs
Maybe not Gatting but Emburey pulled off one almost identical down under 86/87 in ODIs.Cricket has changed beyond recognition from when I was a lad.
