Wood will only play 1 in 4 games, that the problem. Having both is fine by me.
 
Well, serious test of this batting line up, will be biggest chase in world cup history by a good 20 runs if they do it. Also in top 10 all time chases I'd reckon for all international 1 day take

These stats are fair enough but tbh it’s a totally different game this World Cup to years gone by. I would guess we will see probably 5 or 6 chases of 330+ this World Cup. Game is geared far more to batsman now and the shots they are playing makes comparisons to years gone by not that relevant I think.

Translation, I'm anti Archer and I won't stop banging on that Wood is slightly quicker every fuckin day.:lol:

Wood and Archer are both good bowlers but Wood can't be relied on to stay fit. They would both make the team if everyone is fit and firing.

He’s right though to be fair. The media can’t wait to praise archer beyond belief yet wood barely gets a mention when bowling as good if not better spells. Agreed both should be in side but archer gets far more praise than wood.

I think that's a bit unfair, TR is right to point out that Wood has very unfairly become an afterthought with the media, despite how well he's bowled lately. It's as if he's suddenly a medium pace fringe bowler to some - a lot of pundits didn't even have him in the squad.

Spot on, Nasser and Bumble didn't have him in the squad!

He is currently our best bowler when fit IMO, since his run up change, after thought is the right phrase.

None of this is a slight on Archer, its on the media

They are both good players mate when they are playing well. Wood is fantastic when in top form and fitness but his overall strike rate for England is not great and he can't be relied on to stay fit.

I couldn't care less what the press say about them tbh but whatever they say that's no reason to have a downer on Archer who was brilliant in the first game.

Agree there. To be fair I’m not down on archer at all just think there isn’t much between him and archer really apart from the injury record as mentioned.
