Cracking win today over the Pakistanis.
The result was always going to India’s way regardless of whether they batted first or second.

They have a very strong team and the one day experience of the players is excellent.
England at Edgbaston is going to be the only serious challenge I can see for India in this league format after beating the Aussies.

Its all just about who plays who in the semis now

Win the group and get NZ has to be the aim

Fancy the Bangles for this one. They’ve been a lot more consistent so far than the Windies who look a pretty poor outfit.

Gayle at Taunton could be interesting, hope they have plenty of spare balls

You wot mate?

I'd say Roy's WC is over then

Such a shame for the lad and a massive blow for England's WC chances

Never know, I’ve done both hamstrings in the past. One was a month out the other was a week or so. He’s still got time to be for fit for the semis hopefully.

Thought the WI would be dark horses for the whole tournament but they've not got going at all. I actually think having Gayle in the squad has a detrimental effect on the side, he's out of shape, unprofessional and it can't set a good example to the rest of the squad.

Big lad gone for nowt
Familiar strategy from Gayle to take it easy over the first few overs. But it looks awful when it goes wrong.

Interesting point. I can imagine the England fans' reaction if, say, Kevin Petersen was selected in similar shape. (Of course, there are other issues with KP).

I'm not a fan of Gayle, I think he's a bit of an arse and has probably caused more harm than good to WI cricket with his laissez-faire approach but there's no doubting his talent so it would have been a tough call to leave him out. I think there's been a few bad eggs in that WI side over the years and he's one of them, Dwayne Bravo being another - their ego's far outweigh their commitment. It's also sad to see the likes of Russell and Pollard effectively choosing to be T20 mercenaries but that's just the way the game's going.

I'm no fan of KP as an individual, but I don't think you could ever doubt his commitment to the cause, even if he did play the lone wolf at times.

I think it says a lot that they are prepared to carry Gayle and Russel. It's difficult to see the latter bowling much today, given the state he was in the other day.

On a different front, the Bangladesh fielding has been magnificent today.

Russell at 8 is fine like if he bowls, then he has licence to play those innings

Pretty sure he batted 6 in last game and his innings was f***ing ridiculous

Its an aggressive move but I can't help think they've missed a trick playing Braithwaite all tournament

They had Aussie's 88-5, imagine if they had Gabriel or Roach coming on instead

Notsure what to make of the Windies, they have some talent but lack basic intelligence

I think its a tad harsh on the Windies like, they get paid very little, and then the windies board said the had to play in the domestic competitions to get picked for the national side, which was unrealistic

Its easier for the english lads as they are all on big central contracts

the new Windies board have realised there, and there is no give and take, people like Gayle, Russell etc, that is what will happen to some of these new lads unless they are allowed to enjoy some riches from their talents
