Cricket on TV

There was an episode of One Foot in the Grave where Victor is listening to TMS in a beer garden. England take a wicket and he punches the table with joy, sending a pint flying over a big bloke sitting nearby.

IIRC, the next scene sees Margaret treating Victor for a bust nose or black eye.

Pretty sure CMJ was the commentator.

There was a cricket match in Ever Decreasing Circles too.

Don't know if anyone even remembers that sitcom. Richard Briers was in it.

Aye, brilliant programme! I think in that one Paul, played by Peter Egan, wins the match for Martin's team with a brilliant innings.

Martin doesn't know whether to be happy or annoyed as Paul as outshone him for the umpteenth time!

Yeah and to add insult to injury the opposition captain was cross with Paul because they played a "ringer" when it was supposed to be a game for those who just enjoyed cricket.

The Goodies episode “2001 and a bit.” featured cricket with the MCC mercilessly caricatured. There’s next to nothing on YouTube but Wikipedia gives a full synopsis.
Mrs RT (no) reckons there was a cricket match in All Creatures Great & Small.
Definitely. All I remember now was a fielder trying to catch a ball next to a tall wall which was the boundary and ended up over the other side!

I've got a DVD compilation of The Goodies which I've had for years and just checked what's on it and it includes this episode.

I must admit I can't remember it but I'll try and watch it again when I get time.
