Had no idea about Bairstow's Dad or Mark Saxelby.

Saxelby's death was horrible. He drank weedkiller which usually means you die slowly and painfully. I remember reading that at the end of his career at Durham he wrote to N/Echo journalist Tim Wellock saying he was quitting the game and then gave some bizarre reasons (not sure what they were) on how to change cricket.
 
Tim Ambrose also talking about is troubles with depression after losing his England place.

Tragic, but seems more people are opening up about their emotions and state of mind now than in the past. That has to be a good thing.
 
I wonder if the depression comes because cricketers are natural analysts. Batters, bowlers and fielders are always looking at what they, as individuals, can do better. That can usually be manageable when you're in a team setting and have your mates for support but, when you're on your own, it's a different story.
