Cricket Clubs That Have Reformed

Which local ones have having rapped cricket in for a while? Just doing some research for a club I'm involved with. Did Wearmouth?

Didn't Chilton Moor sell their ground and move into Wearmouth's after the original Wearmouth folded ?

Then after a while they changed their name from Chilton Moor to Wearmouth

......or something like that.

Thats sounds about right but did they not change the name immediatly?

Also, i think Etherley reformed/taken over by lads from bishop auckland rugby club ......king james??????

Washington, in the early 70's lost the ground at Spout Lane and did not play for at least one season it might have been two, but no more than that. Reformed and played at Gleeb Welfare for about 3 years with oneteam so could not rejoin the DCCL.

In 1975 or 76 they laost that ground as well but the NEDCL allowed them to play home games away and to hire other grounds on a match by match basis. with out that help the club would have gone under again. At the end ofthat season they ended up playing games at Harraton and the rest is history.

Hylton CC folded when the pit closed back in the seventies, the ground was given to the council by the NCB who still maintain it today. They reformed again a few years later and joined the North East Durham league.

Back in the 70s I remember Castletown had a team, did they have their own ground or play at Hylton ?

Castletown were originally called Sunderland education and they rented the ground at Castletown ( Hyltons ground) under the name of sunderland education for a season or two before changing their name to Castletown.

Brandon played on a horrible council park in the 80's in Bowburn in the north west Durham league. Pretty sure that they disappeared and returned in the north east Durham at the current ground.

Kelloe folded, came back ,folded again.
