Anyone else noticed they’ve gone to absolute ratshit lately?

Barely cover any games live nowadays, didn’t cover Aus A v SL A overnight, not covering the T20 World Cup qualifiers in Holland - which previously they would cover quite extensively. No longer even offering ball-by-ball graphics of county matches.

Very poor from a once great cricket stats leader.

Used to run the smb fantasy leagues through there nearly 20 years ago now

It was much simpler back then

Use NVplay for English cricket. Just as a heads up for ball by ball coverage.

Owned by Disney who acquired IPL broadcasting rights to the sum of $6 billion.

So in a roundabout way yeah.

Why we're seeing Major League cricket get full coverage cos of the US and IPL connections. Whereas the Blast and CC get fuck all as no IPL.

While the Hundred will be covered to the rafters next month.

Isn’t it aligned to ESPN too though? Which given how brilliant they are with most other sports I find it quite strange that they essentially don’t bother to do a proper job with cricket.

They sponsor the site. That is all. It's known as ESPN Cricinfo.

You’re not really comparing like for like there though. They don’t cover the Ranji or the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophies in notably greater detail than their English equivalents either. It’s all franchise and tests these days, sadly.

They've given ball by by data on english cricket for as long as i've used Cricinfo.

They still provide by ball by ball data on all T20 leagues except the Blast.

They did also provide by by ball data on Ranji trophy. Whether that's changed this year or not I don't know.

I’ve had a check back. Unless I am missing something there appears to be full ball by ball on last year‘s Ranji final, but picking a random earlier game, Baroda v Services linked below, there’s nothing on the commentary tabs.
The same with the Syed Mushtaq Ali. No ball by ball.

So it’s not true that they do all T20 leagues apart from the Blast. Where there is a franchise league and a domestic league, they mainly cover the franchise league.

I agree that they used to do the Blast ball by ball, and English domestic cricket, much better, and that it’s a bit of crap now that they don’t. But I think the reason is the obsession with franchise, not a particular bias against our own non-franchise competition. As you say, they’ll have plenty of the Hundred.
