Creatine

It's being heavily pushed as a supplement for middle aged and above recently, more for it's cognitive and energy benefit than anything else. But ,as ever, anyone with a kidney complaint needs to be careful. The Monohydrate version is the best option.

Creatine is found naturally in certain animal based food. As long as he takes a normal dose and stays hydrated, then good on him. When I was 15, I was grinding up cowies and sniffing them, be thankful he’s wanting to be healthy 😂

I totally get your concerns but honestly mate, do a bit research as its by far the best thing to take without delving into taking gear. I've used it on and off for years and i mean years and the gains in strength and size are very good.
Im using now actually as i had a niggly shoulder injury and it just helped take the strain a bit until i worked my way through it.
Like some one said on the thread, just stick to the correct dosage and he will be fine.

Keep encouraging him mate, gym doesn't half help your mental health too believe me ive been hoying iron about for over 30 year.

your uncle is obvs having a midlife crisis mate :)
My wife has done the same. She's got pretty good at getting creases out by now tbf.

Main points already covered in the thread...

Start off with low doses and tell him not to do over the recommended daily amount. Some people can get kidney issues with it.

Drink plenty water to stay hydrated...

Buy a good quality brand and pure...

Creatine is proven to be okay, let the lad take it in recommended doses.
Creatine is the most researched supplement on the planet and is safe at recommended doses but the tiny testicle army tend not to stick to recommended doses of anything with the more is better dictum ..keep away from steroids and in truth your sons health is in more danger from a long term very high dose protein diet than any toxicity from creatine.

TBH blokes over 60 should look (research for yourself and decide)into taking between 3-10 g per day as it helps with brain health ,resists sarcopenia and may help with delaying degenerative brain diseases.

As an older poster on here "cough cough" I've been taking it for the past 6 months and it does seem to make a positive difference....

How much do you take rich? I started taking around 5mg before bed ( i have poor sleep patterns ) but it got rid of the lethargy after waking up !It does make you retain a little water in your muscles initially so your weight may go up but personally i think it works for me and i might up it to 10 g to see what happens.
