Creatine

Rivet Catcher

Midfield
The boy is coming up 15 and has been going the gym with his pals for the last 12 months. He’s just asked if he can start taking creatine as all his pals are. Surely this stuff isn’t good for young lads under 18? I’ve told him he’s not getting it, no chance. As you can imaging the lip on is huge. Any other smbers offspring asking for similar? I’d imagine it’s some dick on Tik tok pushing the agenda.

It's fine. Do not exceed recommended doses etc. If he takes too many, he'll get the shits. Nowt bad will happen unless he has like twenty times the stated dose for weeks on end.

Get him to test out small doses to check out the gut reaction at first. Moving to before bed helps some people

Creatine is found naturally in certain animal based food. As long as he takes a normal dose and stays hydrated, then good on him. When I was 15, I was grinding up cowies and sniffing them, be thankful he’s wanting to be healthy 😂
There you gan. As the lad says, grind up some cowies and add them in

Creatines a natural compound made in your body and is good for mental sluggishness and tiredness etc. My friend takes it and she swears by it. Just avoid the stuff with loads of fillers added and try and buy as clean as possible. I can't see it doing much harm and if the gym is keeping him fit and focussed I wouldn't worry about it. Just educate him about the dangers of steroids as they can damage your heart.

A full on deep dive on YouTube might in order for steroids. They're incredibly dangerous and the kids on YouTube/TikTok who've not finished developing before starting on them are doing themselves some serious harm.

The lad I've linked to is a PHD and has done steroids. He's dead against them for anyone who isn't 25, reached their maximum potential naturally and is competing. You can do permanent damage. Plus your old chap might stop working and you'll go bald.

This^^^
If you ban him from taking a relatively safe supplement, he might ignore you when you warn him about steroids and other nasties he will inevitably be offered. He hasn't finished growing yet and that is a vulnerable time.
Education (and legalisation) is the answer.

Diet & Exercise forum this inane roid-head nonsense.

Not something you really need imo, especially as a youngin. When I took a course of it I just retained water like a water balloon and my farts absolutely stunk.

Some people don’t respond to it apparently.

Nothing much to lose trying it as it’s relatively inexpensive.

It’s actually great he’s asked you for your advice about this

With all stuff like that it's probably just dust anyway. All these health potions are a load of shite, wouldn't believe a word of what they say. They are all advertised by people on roids and in the small print they only work with a good diet and exercise, well that's all you need anyway 🤣
