From what I heard the Northants players gathered round Kieswetter worried he was seriously injured and the bowler - David Willey - just wandered back to his mark unconcerned.

I don't know, he looks pretty concerned to me!

Don't know who told you that, as others have said he looks distraught, doesn't want to get any closer to see the damage he's caused.

How can a cricket ball get through the visor? Isn't the gap designed to be smaller than the diameter of a ball?

I think I remember Flynn from NZ losing a tooth to a ball which seemed to just disort the grille.

I think most helmets tend to have different settings where you can lower the grill. I do it on mine. Hate wearing a helmet so have the grill lower as it irritates me less, whilst still giving more protection than no helmet at all.

I did the same a few weeks ago without a lid. Admittedly the bowling was slower, but the crunch when it hits you in the eye is scary

I did it a few years ago, top edged one into my face - i can remember seeing it coming then realising i was on the deck with blood pissing out of my eyebrow. It smarted a bit i can tell you.

I've never worn a helmet, even at junior level but that one forced me to have a rethink!!
