Craft Beer

Aye I think about October or something. It's directly opposite the Petersgate Tap. They've got a couple on cask and about 10 keg.

Stockport is a brilliant place to drink these days.
Yea I had a cracking day out there around this time last year. Way overdue another visit.

Got my mum babysitting today so we’re going for a rice and three at This & That followed by a few pints around that area.

Looks like the end could be near for BrewDog

I don't think their demise will be mourned by many. They were very innovative when they started but lost the plot a long time ago and have indulged in some very dubious business practices.

Overtone in administration, and Turning Point are up for sale. Seems to be a regular occurrence at the minute

I would say that people are prepared to pay a little more for a quality beer rather than mass produced crap but there comes a point when money is tight that it becomes a luxury.

The beer duty rules really need looking at.

Must be hundreds of them fighting for their lives. Cost of everything has gone mental and the craft beer wave is on the way down. Too many of them offering the same thing with nothing that distinguishes them from the competition as well.
Pretty much how I see it & reflects my own habits. Still enjoy craft, might have a couple tonight, but I used to chase new beers, especially Impy stouts. Now I dint drink much in the house, I’m happy with my bi monthly Vaux sub box & topping up from a supermarket.

As much as I’d love to stock up on on Omnipollo’s, I can’t justify the price or time to sit & drink impys. When I go out it’s the match or gigs, which means I get the odd craft choice, but nothing really top tier. If im an indicator of a fraction of the population, you’re left with a small % who’ll go out solely for a drink then choose craft vs a much bigger amount who’ll want cheaper mass produced stuff.

The main lad behind it is now in the legal weed growing business, has a facility up Scotland somewhere

I'm lucky in that I have a group of mates that are either beer nerds like me, or really easy going and happy to just go where the beer nerds want. Hence Microbus next week for their Impy stout weekend.

Match days are different mind. Often end up somewhere shit as Isis, BHV, Keel Tavern, Dun Cow dont have footie on.

Looking forward to this.

Always a good weekend.
