Had a half last week, not even the best Verdant DIPA I’ve had this year. Nice enough as you say but nowt flash which probably shows how far uk brewing has come on since its first release.
 
Is mortal hound in the town still going? Went past for the first time in ages yesterday afternoon and it didn’t look open but I thought it might have been too early. Can’t find a profile for them on Facebook

Blockyard Brew Co brewery Roker

Been in a few times and it was spot on. But it stunk today and the kid behind the bar would rather fuck about with the telly than serve customers These townies who open bars man....never know what theme to have their bar so just have everything. Best stick to hip joints like vaux and fausto...

Yes agreed, I hadn’t drank it in years and was a bit underwhelmed to be honest.
 
Reet. I know I’m a fan boi but honestly, the new pale from Vaux at 3.4% abv is absolutely spot on. Had beers at twice the abv that don’t taste as good. Just as good in cans as it is on keg.

Get it while it’s fresh :cool:

Decent days and nights. A reuse of the name, but a completely different beer. Lush.

Haven’t had it yet. No doubt it’ll be in my next sub box, but I’ll pick one up if I’m out & about.
 
Off to Edinburgh tomorrow for a stag do. Get there way before anyone else so got a bit of time to walk around.

Was tempted to walk down towards leith, looks like got Newbarns, Campervan and Moonwake taprooms round that area. Anyone been to any of them? Worth a visit? Might only be able to pop to one or two of them as only open in 2/3ish

Sounds mint, but…. You’re going on a stag do you’ll need to be careful with what you hoy down your neck before you meet your mates like.

Nee good them rocking up & youre 3 points of impys deep.

Not that exact scenario, but woke up in Antwerp & just went to the bar across the road sitting drinking the 8%er beers. Got stuck with some random Russian who called himself DJ Putin & lectured me about the Belgian Trappist Breweries for about 90mins until my mates turned up. I was canny goods then but got asked to sit outside of the next pub cos I was bodypopping to the Pogues on the jukebox inside & the locals didn’t enjoy it.

Majorca, woke up after the first day & night on the drink, about 4hrs sleep & decided to go to the shop for some water & crisis & stuff for the room. Got chased out of the nearest Aldi, cos they were cleaning before opening at 9, so had a walk to the beach. Found a hotel & had a pint to kill a bit time. Sent a pic of me with a pint of I thought I was the boy, my cousin turned up cos he was jealous & we had a few more. Then got a call from my mate at a different posh hotel, had a couple of pints with him & a couple of Krackens that were put on his room bill, then went to the pub to meet the rest of the lads. Think I was starfished asleep on the pub floor by midday. Went to Burger King & lost my hotel.

Good times.
