Craft Beer


Had a couple in trading post in Manchester. Nice lager, black one was decent. Chicken was good especially when half price. Can’t grumble for 5.5 a pint either

De Molen are closing down. Final day at the end of August. Another good brewery killed by a macro brewery.

Struise are closing as well. Real shame for Dutch brewing.

Looks like I’m more or less off the drink for 3/4 weeks, bar maybe one or two at midweek gigs, until I go to Madrid at the end of Feb.

With that in mind, anybody been to Madrid & got any recommendations? There’s about 50 of us, so doubtful we’ll all stop together. Gives one or two of us the chance to jump in an uber somewhere if there’s a bar/taproom/brewery worth stopping off at.

Canny few little craft places around Malasaña. There's only one craft brewery in the city though and it's tiny - Fabrica Maravillas. You'll do well to get 10 of you in there like never mind 50. Topper city for bar hopping though.

It’ll be a select few (who I invite) will be part of a good beer hunt like. So I’ll limit it.

If you get the chance to list any names it’d be appreciated, but I’m guessing it’s not easy to remember them.
