Kings arms is a stone gate boozer. They are really limited as to what they can have on. I think they have freedom on one cask line, and nothing in the way of freedom on keg.

Shame really. Cos it’s a topper little boozer

In the Saltgrass now. On Salt Jute IPA, but the beer selection is shite. Compared to when Walter had it.

Didn't even have Jute this afternoon. 3 lagers,nowt else, no craft cans, no Guinness, no cask, utter shite. I'll think long and hard about going back. Might just go straight to Wildfire next time. Try to support pubs but that's just rubbish

Aye, there’s about 5/6 hand pulls on the bar & no clips. It’s a canny building in a traditional pub sense, open fire etc, but it’s like they’ve just fucked the beer off. Seemed to be doing a decent trade like.

Got as far as the Vaults, never made it to the Isis. Should have went home at that point when most of our company did, but ended up having one in Vesta Tileys (did walk into the Rabbit, but it was rammed & couldn’t be arsed with the queue at the bar) then went to 7seven. A quick tally up of what I think I drank in each pub tells me exactly why I’ve been dying today.

Started going back to the Salty after years away when Wildfire moved. For it to have such an embarrassingly bad offering today puts me right off. I'd have walked out if I was with me mates but was with the missus so just had a swift pint. Wildfire had run out of decent draught anarl. £7 for cans of Cuzzy.

Plenty of others to go at for a decent enough day (Bridge, Diegos, Keel, Duncow, Isis etc). Mind, recently plenty have suggested Sunderland is now as good as Newcastle for beers (so need to travel through). Whilst things have undoubtedly improved its still got a bit to go. The stuff available the other day between the Duck, Cat and Mouse knocked spots off.

We tend to rotate between sunderland Newcastle and Gateshead lately, but its often Newcastle, Sunderland, Newcastle, gateshead. I get out in Sunderland on match days as well so enjoy the variety. The big draw of Sunderland for me is convenience getting there and back. Hour each way on the bus to Newcastle is a pain
